Prawn gobies get huge, so stick with the watchman. Feed twice daily if you can. It's better for all your livestock anyway. If you just throw food in at the front of the tank, it will eventually learn to come out and eat when you feed

I kept a ywmg for about 5 years and I never spot fed. I mainly fed flake with occasional brine and bloodshimp. I always soaked my flakes and frozen in water and a drop of garlic xtreme for a couple minutes before adding to tank, The goby loved it.

Every fish is slightly different. My YWg prefers to hunt around for amphipods and to sift through the sand, an will only eat food I put in and let it sink to within 5 inches of his den. If I try spot feeding directly he bugs out and hides, but when he does eat, it is very fast and aggressively as said above.
