I "bought" my first cookbook and the age of 8 with SH Green Stamps that my parents allowed me to use. It was the Betty Crocker cookbook, and is still my pride and joy, 50+ years later.

My son hated (still does) peas - can't tell you how many single peas that kid ate until I was convinced it was a certain no go. Oh and just a little observation some of the comments that are made makes me very glad I became firm with my kids. Consider ing that their are kids that have to eat out of dumpsters or that week old food you through out because the,texture just was gross or it didn't look good enough.
