Feeding Lasius Niger
So I am new to ant keeping and I currently have a small colony of Lasius Niger. They currently have one queen and four workers and are housed in a test tube setup. I know that ants need a sugar food source and a protein food source. For sugar, I feed them small drops of honey and I am feeding them bits of nuts for protein.

You need to feed them bugs because that’s what they eat. If you had gotten a harvester species of ant, they may be able to survive only on seeds and nuts, but they still eat bugs so they might eventually all die as well, not sure.
