The Garden

The Garden is the area where you begin. Here you can see the clover (よつば) that serves as currency, the mailbox and the many visitors you may encounter from time to time (Hello snail!) You harvest the clover to buy food for the frog, and it re-spawns after some time. Occasionally you can find a four-leaf clover you can use as a lucky charm.

Back Room

The Back Room is the place where the frog stores all the Souvenirs, Specialties and Pictures from its journeys. You can get to the Back Room by pressing the Back Room button (うらべや), or pressing the Back Room area inside the house:

About Specialties and Visitors

After each journey, your frog will return with one or more specialties from the region it has visited. These will be recorded in the Specialties (めいぶつ) section of the Encyclopedia, and the actual items will be in the Specialties tab of the Belongings section (もちもの), with a little number indicating how many of those you have.

Shop

The shop is the place where you can buy things for the frog's journey. You can get to the Shop by pressing the Shop button (おみせ). It has three different kind of items: Food (おべんとう), Tools (どうぐ), and Charms (おまもり), though there's no visual separation of each category.

Lottery

In the Lottery, you play to win different prizes, depending on the color of the ball you get. To play the Lottery, you need 5 tickets that you get from watching the ads from the flyers the visitors leave in the mailbox.

Preparation

When you press on the Preparation button (while the frog is at home), you get the Bag screen (かばん)

1. Feed The Frog Well

At first, you won’t have a lot of options for feeding the frog, but once you do, it will become an important part of the game. Make sure you always pack food in his backpack. If you forget to do so, you can lure him back by placing food on his desk. Do not send him away with cheap food.

2. Find Better Charms

Lucky charms are important trinkets for the frog to take along on his trips. You can harvest four-leaf clovers from the garden, and they should work just fine for a while. Better charms are waiting for you, however. If you want new charms, just play the lottery. Lottery tickets can be acquired from the frog when he comes home after a trip.

3. Learn The Different Buttons

The game is in Japanese, so it helps if you understand the language. If you don’t, you can still play it by learning what each button does. The icons on each button serve as a hint, so it should be easy enough to figure them out. When inside the frog’s house, the button on the lower left opens his backpack or his desk.

4. Track Your Progress

The button at the top of the screen allows you to view the souvenirs and photos that you have acquired. You will need to check these from time to time because the frog will sometimes send you the same photos or souvenirs. That will mean he has been going on duplicate trips.

What is the clover in the game Yotsuba?

According to this game, the four-leaf clover called “Yotsuba” acts as a talisman and brings luck. In the tutorial mode, the game allowed you to add this clover when the frog was packing bags. Now we don’t know what the actual use of Yotsuba is.

Does TabiKaeru come back?

One of the main concerns TabiKaeru players have is that the frog does not come back home. It can be pretty frustrating, especially if one does not see him return even after 3 days. Well, here’s a simple trick:

Journey Frog (Tabikaeru 旅かえる) Guide – Items and its function translated

The new game from Neko Atsume creator Yutaka Takazaki – Journey Frog (Tabikaeru 旅かえる) has rapidly taken over the mobile stores in various countries (especially in Asia) in a short time just after its release.

From the shop, you can purchase food, amulets and tools using clovers (can be collected in front of the house or receive from your frog’s friend). Here are the items purchasable in the shop and their function explained:

What is Tabikaeru?

Tabikaeru is an iOS and Android game that about a traveling frog (and his friend Mai Mai the snail). It's not about keeping them as a "pet", like many other games, but more like being allowed to peak into their daily life, and helping out your new friend how you can. You help them pack for trips and where they go can depend on the items they take.

How Does it Work?

The game is entirely in Japanese. I went through the game to translate most of it so it would make sense for me as well as others who want to try it. But it's a simple game so once you know the basics it's easy to play. Let's go through the different screens so you can take a look. I'll explain along the way too.

Tutorial

After downloading the game (just search Tabikaeru and it will come up) you'll open it up and will need to agree to the terms and conditions. Then you're introduced to the frog and you get to give them a name.

Menus

Let's go through the menus and different buttons again just as a cheat sheet of sorts.

I did a little tutorial for Tabikaeru, for those (like me) that don't know Japanese. Hope you like it

Still getting the hang of all this and I’ve read a lot of what the items will do for Greg (my frog) but I haven’t found anything for the telephone looking thing allll the way at the end in the shop. Anyone know what is does?
